WAN – Wide Area Networks

Connect your LANs together, if you have an office in Bangkok and one anywhere else in the world, we’ll create a secure connection between the two via the internet enabling sharing across both networks.

WiFi Hot Spots – Public Networks

Select IT has a long history of installing WiFi hotspots in restaurants and bars in Bangkok.  We’ll share your existing office internet connection, protect your existing office computers with a firewall, and set up a customized splashpage so your customers can log in and surf the web securely.  You will also be fully compliant with Thailand’s new Computer Crime Act (logging of computer users using the internet) and you’ll have a list of your customers email addresses for future marketing.

Mobile Networks

Select IT also provide bespoke off-site networks, including:

• Temporary LAN – ideal when you need your PC’s at an event or trade show, we’ll also set up a mobile internet connection and a link to your office network if required.
• Mobile Internet – need internet at a remote location? We’ll set up an internet router and WiFi access point (if required) literally anywhere, no telephone line required.  Data speeds are currently up to 384kbps using GPRS-Edge networks or 273kpbs using CDMA networks.
• In-Car Internet – yes, you read correctly! Select IT are now able to install computer equipment in your vehicle.  Anything from your own “in-car WiFi hotspot” for securely downloading your emails on your laptop PC to a fully integrated multimedia system with multiple screens, movies and music on-demand, GPS navigation, and mobile internet.

3G

High speed mobile 3G connections are now available in North Korea, Burma and Cambodia!  Unfortunately, Thailand is one of the few countries in the world without a 3G network, for now (April 2009) the best we have is 2.5G.  Data speeds are currently up to 384kbps using GPRS-Edge networks or 273kpbs using CDMA networks. Select IT will inform all our clients of 3G hardware and 3G providers in Thailand as soon as this becomes available.
